Founded in 2010, AsianAmericanHeroes.com is an online magazine dedicated to showcasing and profiling those heroes and role models who have made and are trying to make a difference in the Asian American community.

The first Asians arrived in America centuries ago. In 1763, Filipinos established the small settlement of Saint Malo, Louisiana, after fleeing mistreatment aboard Spanish ships. Most Chinese, Korean and Japanese immigrants in Hawaii arrived in the 19th century as laborers to work on sugar plantations. Many of the immigrants worked as laborers on the Transcontinental railroad and were known for their hard work ethic. Despite widespread discrimination, and laws such as the Chinese Exclusion Act, Asian Americans have continued to seek the American dream.

AsianAmericanHeroes.com will chronicle the stories of the countless role models and heroes in our community so that their voices will finally be heard.
